RESEARCH

Often considered the epitome of rational decision-making,chess intrigued me. However, I wondered if there might be more to the story. Are chess players truly rational agents, or do cognitive biases influence their decisions? To find answers to these questions, I embarked on a journey of exploration and research.
Titled "Rationality and Cognitive Biases in Chess.", the research paper not only uncovers the intricacies of chess decision-making but also sheds light on how these insights can be applied to decision-making beyond the chessboard.

In this review paper, our primary objective was to reevaluate the conventional perception of chess players as rational agents, transcending the boundaries of the chessboard. We aimed to delve into the role of heuristics in chess players' decision-making, assessing whether these heuristics prove advantageous or detrimental and their potential to mitigate personal biases. Additionally, we sought to investigate the applicability of chess skills in real-life scenarios by drawing insights from a diverse range of literature.
